# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • It tastes like you spent time thinking about someone when you really just spent five minutes shaking a glass.
  • The black currant syrup gives you something genuinely different from the usual citrus-forward cocktails everyone makes.
  • Those edible flowers aren't just pretty—they're your permission to make something feel like an occasion.
02 -
  • Warm lime juice will never taste as bright as cold lime juice, so squeeze it fresh and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour before you need it.
  • That black currant syrup will separate if you're not careful—store it in the fridge and give it a shake before pouring, otherwise you'll end up with sediment at the bottom of your cocktail glass.
03 -
  • If you can't find edible flowers, a single blackberry balanced on the rim works beautifully and still gives you that visual moment.
  • Make a batch of black currant syrup once and you'll have it on hand for other cocktails, iced tea, or spooned over vanilla ice cream when inspiration strikes.
